Henrik Vibskov Opens Pop-Up Store In Miami

Join us to celebrate the opening of the Henrik Vibskov Boutique's 'The Miami Visit' pop-up store and Henrik Vibskov's installation in 4510/SIX on December 4 from 6–9pm at 7338 NW Miami Court, in Little River.

For 4510/SIX’s Little River store, Vibskov has designed a custom installation to celebrate the influx of creatives meeting in Miami for Art. Three temporary modules, each with back-painted walls and décor, will interrupt the everyday retail experience. The modules will contain Vibskov’s SS19 and AW18 collections, with the latter inspired by Jan Fabre’s sculpture The Man Who Measures the Clouds (L'homme qui mesure les nuages), which Vibskov encountered last summer during his travels in Kanasawa, Japan. Oversized knits, statement outerwear, and garments interspersed with geometric lines all stem from the poetic gesture of measuring something unmeasurable. As part of Vibskov’s installation, dozens of suspended, identical “brooms” will fill 4510/SIX’s front window.

Come by to grab a drink and enjoy the artwork!

Paris Pop-Up Store

Opening: Paris Pop-Up Store!

On November 29 Henrik Vibskov will open a pop-up store in the midst of the Parisian 10th Arrondissement - 13 Rue Taylor. After more than 30 continuous runway shows in the French capital, he has decided to unfold his creative universe through a temporary mono-label retail concept.

“Paris has always been the heart, the machine, the reliable rhythm of the industry. Its fashion scene has always been part of my professional activities, so testing retail here is an old dream that finally has come true,” says Henrik Vibskov.

He continues: "In our company we have always been supporters of multi-label concept, and a diverse shopping experience. But this space seems to be perfectly fit for presenting my collections staged alone.

When this opportunity came, I was exited to put our retail concept to a test - in a new city, in a new context. Retail is not an easy discipline, and at the moment customers can't find a broad selection of my collections in Paris, so I’m happy to connect with the existing, as well as build a new audience through this more intimate set up and space. Outside the Fashion Week, outside the big tourist season.”

The Henrik Vibskov Boutique PARIS POP-UP opening event will take place on November 29 from 4pm to 8pm at 13 Rue Taylor, 75010 Paris.

Co-hosted by Novembre Magazine.

SS19 - Due to Sudden Weather Change

Wind. This meteorological and metaphorical phenomenon inspired the SS 2019 collection. Wind can be our helpful friend but has a factor of quickly turning to be our enemy and create unexpected situations. Foamy waves, soap bubbles, playful paper planes, boomerangs, parachutes, aerodynamics and even bad breath were keywords during the collection development. Photos by Victor Jones

To find sense where there is no sense in a culture where we are obsessed about numbers, we seek to measure, analyze, compare and categorize. If you can number it, you can control it. We want to pause for a moment to question this number mania and to know what is going on around us, how our actions impact others, how the environment is changing and how we are changing. If we want to change what we care about, shouldn’t we change what we measure?

The collection reflects the theme in various ways; prints of little working people trying to analyze their surroundings, oversized ribbing on knitwear that seems like it came from another measuring system, free floating paint strokes that don’t want to fit the grid in the background, prolonged button stands and sleeve slits and weave on suiting that shows measure tapes woven into the that garments. Some of the garments are developed from the starting point where pieces from earlier collection were sewn together in new scales and original measurements were swapped around.
